A catch‑all email address means: if someone sends mail to a non‑existing address at your domain (for example anything@yourdomain.com), the message will be delivered to a chosen mailbox instead of being rejected.
Catch‑all is useful for legacy addresses, but it also attracts spam. Enable it only if you really need it.
Before you enable catch‑all
- Create (or choose) a real mailbox that will receive catch‑all mail (for example
info@).
- Make sure the mailbox has enough quota, because catch‑all can receive a lot of junk mail.
Enable catch‑all in Plesk (GARMTECH hosting)
- Log in to Plesk via My.GARMTECH.
- Go to Mail.
- Select the required domain.
- Click Mail Settings.
- Find the option for mail sent to non‑existent users (catch‑all) and choose Forward to address.
- Enter the destination mailbox (recommended: a mailbox on the same domain, for example
info@yourdomain.com).
- Save the changes.
Test catch‑all
- Send a test email to a random address that does not exist, for example
test123@yourdomain.com.
- Confirm the message arrives in the mailbox you configured as catch‑all.
Security and spam considerations
- If your mailbox starts receiving too much spam, consider disabling catch‑all and creating only the exact addresses you need.
- Use strong passwords and enable 2FA where available (for example in GARMTECH.Email web interface).
