This guide shows how to add a GARMTECH Business Email mailbox to Apple Mail on macOS using IMAP (recommended). IMAP keeps mail synchronized across all your devices.

Before you start

  • Make sure you know the mailbox password (or an app password if 2FA is enabled in GARMTECH.Email).
  • Find your mail server hostname in My.GARMTECH → your Email service details (it is usually the same hostname for IMAP and SMTP).

Step 1: Add the account in Apple Mail

  1. Open Mail on your Mac.
  2. Go to MailAdd Account…
  3. Select Other Mail Account… and click Continue.
  4. Enter:
    • Name (any display name)
    • Email Address (example: user@example.com)
    • Password

If Apple Mail cannot detect settings automatically, choose Manual Configuration and enter the server settings below.

Step 2: Server settings (IMAP + SMTP)

  • Account Type: IMAP
  • Incoming Mail Server (IMAP): your email server hostname from My.GARMTECH
  • IMAP Port: 993
  • IMAP SSL/TLS: enabled
  • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): same hostname (or the SMTP hostname from My.GARMTECH)
  • SMTP Port: 465
  • SMTP SSL/TLS: enabled
  • SMTP Authentication: enabled
  • Username: full email address (example: user@example.com)
  • Password: mailbox password (or app password)

Step 3: Verify outgoing server authentication

  1. Mail → Settings (or Preferences) → Accounts.
  2. Select your mailbox → open Server Settings.
  3. Disable “Automatically manage connection settings” (if needed) and confirm SMTP authentication is enabled.

Testing

  • Send an email to an external address (for example, Gmail) and confirm it is delivered.
  • Reply back to confirm incoming mail works.

Web access: you can always access your mailbox via GARMTECH.Email webmail.
