When a domain expires, it does not always become immediately available to register. Most registries have a sequence of stages (grace, redemption, pending delete), but the exact timeline and fees depend on the TLD (.com, .net, .lv, etc.).
Typical domain expiration timeline (general)
- Expires → the domain reaches its expiration date.
- Grace period → renewal is usually still possible at the normal price.
- Redemption / restore period (not for all TLDs) → the domain may require an additional restoration fee.
- Pending delete → the domain is being removed and cannot be restored.
- Available again → the domain can be registered by anyone.
Important: Some ccTLDs have different rules (and some do not have redemption). Always renew as early as possible.

How to restore an expired domain
- If the domain is still renewable (often during grace): pay the renewal invoice or renew it from the domain page.
- If the domain is in a restore/redemption stage: you may need to request a restoration and pay an additional fee (rules vary by TLD).
- If the domain is already pending delete: restoration is typically not possible; you must wait until it becomes available again.

- Enable Auto‑Renew for domains in My.GARMTECH.
- Keep an active payment method and ensure invoices are paid on time.
- Make sure your account email address is correct so renewal reminders are delivered.
- For important domains, renew for multiple years in advance (if the TLD allows it).
