Keeping WHOIS contacts up to date is important for domain ownership verification, renewal reminders, and transfer approvals.
Before you start
- Make sure you can receive email at the registrant email address you plan to use.
- Some domain zones (TLDs) require an extra confirmation step after updates.
Update WHOIS contacts in My.GARMTECH
- Sign in to My.GARMTECH.
- Open Domains.
- Find your domain and click Manage.
- Locate Contact Information / WHOIS Contacts (wording may vary).
- Update the required fields (name, organization, address, phone, email).
- Click Save.
Confirmations and what to expect
- Many generic TLDs send a confirmation email (for example, to approve an email address change). Follow the instructions in that email if you receive one.
- Changes can take time to propagate to public WHOIS systems. In many cases it can take several hours (sometimes longer) depending on the registry.
