WHOIS Protection (also called Domain Privacy or ID Protection) helps hide the domain owner’s personal contact details from public WHOIS lookup (when supported by the registry).
Enable WHOIS Protection
- Log in to My.GARMTECH.
- Go to Domains → My Domains.
- Open the domain you want to protect.
- Find the Addons section and enable WHOIS Protection / ID Protection.
- If an invoice is created, pay it to activate the addon.
Notes and limitations
- Not all domain extensions support privacy. Some ccTLDs have their own rules and may not allow WHOIS masking.
- After enabling, updates may take time to appear in external WHOIS tools.
- WHOIS Protection hides registration contact details, but it does not hide your website content, DNS records, or IP address.
How to verify
After activation, check the domain details in My.GARMTECH and run a WHOIS lookup using any public WHOIS service. You should see privacy/proxy contact details instead of personal data (if the TLD supports it).
