If you want to transfer your domain away from GARMTECH to another registrar, you will typically need an EPP / Auth code and the domain must be unlocked.
Before you start
- Make sure you can access the registrant/admin email for the domain. Transfer confirmations are usually sent there.
- Check that the domain is not within a transfer lock period (for example, right after registration/transfer or after certain contact detail changes).
- If you use WHOIS protection, keep in mind that some registrars send approvals to the underlying contact email. Ensure your real contact email is correct and reachable.
Get the EPP/Auth code in My.GARMTECH
- Log in to My.GARMTECH.
- Open Domains → My Domains.
- Click Manage next to the domain you want to transfer.
- Find the option Get EPP Code / Transfer Code and copy it.
Unlock the domain (if required)
- In the same domain management page in My.GARMTECH, look for Registrar Lock / Domain Lock.
- Set it to Unlocked and save.
Start the transfer at the new registrar
- At your new registrar, start a domain transfer for the same domain name.
- Paste the EPP/Auth code when asked.
- Approve confirmation emails (if you receive them) as quickly as possible.
Common problems
- “Invalid EPP/Auth code”: copy the code again from My.GARMTECH and make sure there are no extra spaces.
- “Domain is locked”: enable “Unlocked” in My.GARMTECH and retry at the new registrar.
- No confirmation email arrives: verify the domain contact email in My.GARMTECH and check spam/junk folders.
Important: Transferring the domain does not automatically cancel your GARMTECH hosting/VPS service. If your website/email relies on GARMTECH services, plan DNS changes at the new registrar carefully to avoid downtime.
