Forward emails in GARMTECH.Email using Rules (and keep a copy)

In GARMTECH.Email you can forward incoming messages to another mailbox (for example, to a colleague or a personal address). The most flexible way is to use Rules (also called Filters).

Before you start

  • If you only need to forward a few specific emails (by sender/subject), use a rule with conditions.
  • If you forward all mail to an external provider, always keep access to your original mailbox so you can troubleshoot delivery issues.

Create a forwarding rule

  1. Sign in to GARMTECH.Email.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Find Rules, Filters, or Mail rules (names can vary).
  4. Click Add rule (or +).
  5. Set the conditions, for example:
    • All messages (forward everything), or
    • From contains a specific email, or
    • Subject contains a keyword.
  6. Add the action:
    • Forward to → enter the target email address.
    • (Optional) Keep a copy in the original mailbox (recommended).
    • (Optional) Move the message to a folder like Forwarded.
  7. Save the rule.

Prevent forwarding loops (important)

Forwarding loops happen when messages bounce back and forth between mailboxes. To avoid this:

  • Do not forward messages to the same mailbox or to an address that forwards back.
  • If you forward to another mailbox you control, add a second rule there to not forward messages coming from your original address.

Testing

  • Send a test email to your address and confirm it arrives in the target mailbox.
  • Confirm whether a copy is kept (if you enabled that option).

Troubleshooting

  • Forwarding works sometimes → check rule order/priority and make sure conditions are not too strict.
  • No emails are forwarded → verify the rule is enabled and the target address is typed correctly.
  • Messages go to spam → forwarding to external providers can affect deliverability. Keeping a local copy helps diagnose issues.
