Filters (also called rules) allow you to process incoming emails automatically — for example, move messages into folders, mark them as read, or forward them. This helps keep your inbox clean.
Before you start
- Create folders first if you want to move messages (for example: Invoices, Support, Newsletters).
- Rules are applied in order — the first matching rule can “stop processing” depending on configuration.
Open Filters / Rules in GARMTECH.Email
- Log in to GARMTECH.Email.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Filters / Filtering (name may vary depending on the interface version).
- Click Create / Add filter.
Create a rule
- Define conditions (when to match), for example:
- From contains
@garmtech.com
- Subject contains
Invoice
- To equals a specific mailbox
- Choose actions, for example:
- Move message to a folder
- Mark as read
- Set a flag / priority
- Forward to another address (only if you trust the destination)
- Save the rule.
Practical examples
- Invoices to a folder: if subject contains “Invoice” → move to Invoices.
- Newsletters: if from contains “newsletter” OR list header exists → move to Newsletters and mark as read.
- VIP sender: if from equals a specific address → mark as important.
Troubleshooting
- Rule does not work: check the condition (contains vs equals) and the rule order.
- Messages already received: most rules apply to new messages. Some interfaces allow running rules on existing mail.
