If you deleted an email by mistake, it is often still recoverable — especially if you use IMAP.
This article explains how to restore messages in GARMTECH.Email and what limitations to keep in mind.
1) Check the Trash (Deleted Items) folder
- Log in to GARMTECH.Email.
- In the folder list, open Trash (or Deleted).
- Select the message(s) you want to recover.
- Use Move to → choose Inbox (or another folder).
2) Also check other folders
Sometimes messages are not deleted but moved by filters. Check:
- Junk/Spam
- Archive (if you use archiving)
- custom folders
3) Use search (including in Trash)
If you remember part of the subject or sender:
- Use the search field in GARMTECH.Email.
- If available, select “search in all folders”.
- Try searching by sender address and a date range.
4) Important limitations
- Trash auto-clean: deleted messages may be removed automatically after a retention period. If the message is no longer in Trash, it may be permanently deleted.
- POP3: if you use POP3 without “leave a copy on server”, messages can be downloaded and removed from the server — recovery may not be possible.
- Mailbox deletion: if the mailbox itself was deleted, messages are typically not recoverable.
5) Prevention tips
- Prefer IMAP over POP3 — it keeps mailbox state synced with the server.
- Create folders and rules carefully (test rules with a few messages first).
- Consider keeping important correspondence in an “Archive” folder instead of deleting.
