This guide explains how to add a GARMTECH Business Email mailbox to Mozilla Thunderbird using IMAP (recommended). IMAP keeps your messages synced across devices.
Information you need
- Your full email address (example:
name@yourdomain.com)
- Your mailbox password
- Your mail server hostname (shown in My.GARMTECH in your Business Email service details). Use the server hostname for a valid SSL certificate.

Set up in Thunderbird
- Open Thunderbird.
- Go to Account Settings and choose Add Mail Account (or Set up an account).
- Enter your name, email address, and password.
- Click Configure manually (or Manual config).
- Select IMAP and fill in the server hostname and ports shown above.
- Make sure the outgoing server is set to SMTP with authentication enabled.
- Save the settings and test sending/receiving.
Common issues
- Certificate warning: you are likely using the wrong server name. Use the exact server hostname from My.GARMTECH.
- Can receive but cannot send: outgoing SMTP must use port
465 with authentication (username = full email address, password = mailbox password).
