Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your GARMTECH.Email login. After enabling 2FA, signing in requires your password and a one-time code from an authenticator app.

Before you start

  • Install an authenticator app on your phone (for example, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or any TOTP-compatible app).
  • Make sure you can sign in to GARMTECH.Email with your current password.

Enable 2FA in GARMTECH.Email

  1. Sign in to GARMTECH.Email.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Go to Security (or Two-Factor Authentication).
  4. Click Enable.
  5. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app and enter the generated code to confirm.
  6. Save backup/recovery codes if they are shown. Store them in a safe place.

How it affects email apps (IMAP/SMTP)

  • 2FA primarily protects the web login to GARMTECH.Email.
  • If your interface provides an app password feature, use it for email apps that cannot enter 2FA codes.

If you lose access to your authenticator

  • Use your saved recovery codes (if available).
  • If you do not have recovery codes, you will need to request a 2FA reset via a support ticket. (/tickets/create/step1)
