DNS changes not working? Check which nameservers your domain uses (GARMTECH)

A very common reason DNS “doesn’t work” is simply that DNS records were changed in the wrong place.

Rule: DNS records are taken from the domain’s authoritative nameservers. If your domain is not using GARMTECH nameservers, then changes made in Plesk DNS zone will not be used on the Internet.

Step 1: Check your current nameservers

You can check nameservers in My.GARMTECH:

  1. Open Domains → select your domain.
  2. Find the Nameservers section.

GARMTECH authoritative nameservers are:

  • ns1.garmtech.com
  • ns2.garmtech.com
  • ns3.garmtech.com

Step 2: Update DNS in the correct place

If your domain uses GARMTECH nameservers

You can manage DNS records in Plesk:

  • Plesk → Websites & DomainsDNS Settings

If your domain uses other nameservers (Cloudflare / registrar / third-party DNS)

You must manage DNS at that provider, not in Plesk. Typical examples:

  • Cloudflare (orange/grey cloud DNS)
  • Registrar DNS (DNS zone inside the registrar account)
  • External DNS services

In this case, Plesk DNS Settings are not authoritative for your domain.

Step 3: Decide what you want to achieve

Option A: Use GARMTECH DNS (switch nameservers)

Change nameservers at your domain registrar to:

  • ns1.garmtech.com
  • ns2.garmtech.com
  • ns3.garmtech.com

After the change, manage DNS in Plesk.

Option B: Keep external DNS and point to GARMTECH hosting

Keep your current nameservers and create the required records at the current DNS provider, for example:

  • A record for @ → your hosting server IP
  • CNAME for www@ (or to the domain)

The correct IP/target depends on your hosting service — check your service details in My.GARMTECH.

Important notes

  • Do not edit DNS in two different places — it leads to confusion and inconsistent results.
  • After changes, allow time for DNS propagation (see your record TTL and cache).
