If you need someone to send you documents (scans, contracts, photos), you can create an upload‑only link in Cloud Storage (Nextcloud). This is sometimes called File drop or Upload only.
With an upload‑only link, the recipient can upload files to a folder, but cannot see what is already inside.
1) Create a folder for incoming files
- Sign in to your Cloud Storage in a browser.
- Open Files.
- Create a new folder (for example, “Uploads” or “Documents from clients”).
2) Create an upload‑only public link
- Next to the folder, click Share.
- Create a Public link.
- Open link options and select Upload only / File drop (wording may differ).
- Set a password for the link (recommended).
- Set an expiration date (recommended).
- Copy the link and send it to the recipient.
3) Review uploaded files
- Uploaded files will appear in the selected folder.
- If you no longer need uploads, disable the share link in the folder’s sharing settings.
Notes and best practices
- Use a separate folder for each client/project to keep uploads organized.
- Use passwords and expiration dates for security.
- Upload‑only links are ideal for collecting files without exposing your existing data.
