On GARMTECH, DNS records can be managed in different places (My.GARMTECH, Plesk, Cloudflare, etc.). This article explains how to manage DNS records in Plesk when your DNS zone is hosted on the Plesk server.

Before you start: confirm your active nameservers

  • If your domain uses external nameservers (for example, Cloudflare), changes made in Plesk will not apply.
  • If your domain is pointing to DNS hosted on your GARMTECH server, Plesk DNS Settings will control the zone.

Open DNS Settings in Plesk

  1. Log in to Plesk.
  2. Go to Websites & Domains.
  3. Select the domain you want to manage.
  4. Click DNS Settings.

If you see that DNS service is disabled, enable it first (Plesk will show a toggle/button).

Add or edit a DNS record

  1. In DNS Settings, click Add Record (or click an existing record to edit).
  2. Select the record type:
    • A — points a name to an IPv4 address
    • AAAA — points a name to an IPv6 address
    • CNAME — points a name to another hostname
    • MX — mail routing
    • TXT — verification, SPF, etc.
  3. Fill in the fields (host/name, value, and for MX also priority).
  4. Save the record.
  5. Click Update / Apply to publish changes to the DNS zone.

Tips to avoid common DNS problems

  • Propagation: DNS changes can take minutes to hours. In rare cases up to 24 hours.
  • “@” host: some interfaces use @ to mean the root domain. Others use an empty host field. Follow Plesk input hints.
  • SPF: only one SPF TXT record should exist (merge values if you use multiple services).
  • External DNS: if you manage DNS elsewhere (Cloudflare), disable Plesk DNS for the domain to avoid confusion.
