Autodiscover not available: set up GARMTECH email manually (IMAP/SMTP)

Some email clients (especially Outlook) try to configure accounts using Autodiscover. For many IMAP/POP accounts, Autodiscover can fail even when the mailbox is working.

If automatic setup does not work, configure the account manually.

1) Prepare the required information

  • Email address: your full address (for example, info@yourdomain.tld).
  • Password: mailbox password.
  • Server hostname: use the hostname of the service where the mailbox is hosted (check your hosting/email service in My.GARMTECH).

2) Manual settings (recommended: IMAP)

Type Server Port Encryption
IMAP Your server hostname 993 SSL/TLS
SMTP (outgoing) Your server hostname 465 SSL/TLS
  • Username: full email address.
  • SMTP authentication: enabled (same username/password as IMAP).

3) If you see an SSL certificate warning

This usually means the server name is incorrect. Replace it with the exact server hostname from My.GARMTECH (do not use your domain name).

4) After setup

  • Send a test email and reply to it.
  • If sending works but receiving does not, verify domain MX records.
