This guide helps you add your GARMTECH Business Email mailbox to Microsoft Outlook using secure IMAP/SMTP settings.
Information you need before setup
- Email address and password
- Server hostname for your service (shown in My.GARMTECH on your email/hosting service page)
Recommended settings (IMAP)
- Incoming (IMAP): server hostname, port
993, SSL/TLS
- Outgoing (SMTP): server hostname, port
465, SSL/TLS, authentication required
- Username: full email address
Add the account in Outlook (Windows / macOS)
- Open Outlook and go to Add account.
- Enter your email address and choose IMAP (manual/advanced setup may be required).
- Fill in the settings:
- IMAP server: server hostname and port
993 with SSL/TLS
- SMTP server: server hostname and port
465 with SSL/TLS
- Username: full email address
- Password: mailbox password
- Make sure SMTP authentication is enabled (outgoing server uses same credentials).
- Save and run the test connection (Outlook may send a test message).
If Outlook asks for “server:port” format
Some Outlook versions expect the port after a colon. Example:
imap.your-server-hostname:993
smtp.your-server-hostname:465
Common issues
- Password keeps being rejected: confirm you can log in to GARMTECH.Email with the same password.
- Certificate warning: you are likely using a wrong server name (use the service server hostname from My.GARMTECH).
- Can receive but cannot send: SMTP authentication or port/encryption is incorrect (SMTP must be 465 with SSL/TLS).
