Domain Transfer Lock (often shown as Registrar Lock) is a security setting that helps prevent unauthorized domain transfers. In most cases you should keep it enabled.
You normally disable the lock only when:
- you want to transfer the domain to another registrar, or
- a specific domain operation requires unlocking.
How to change Registrar Lock in My.GARMTECH
- Sign in to My.GARMTECH.
- Open Domains → My Domains.
- Click the domain you want to manage.
- Find Registrar Lock / Transfer Lock and switch it On or Off.
- Save changes if the page requires confirmation.
Important notes
- Keep it enabled unless you specifically need it disabled.
- Some TLDs have mandatory locks (for example, a lock period after registration or transfer). In that case, unlocking may not be possible.
- When transferring a domain out, you will also need the EPP/Auth code (transfer code).
