Domain Transfer Lock (often shown as Registrar Lock) is a security setting that helps prevent unauthorized domain transfers. In most cases you should keep it enabled.

You normally disable the lock only when:

  • you want to transfer the domain to another registrar, or
  • a specific domain operation requires unlocking.

How to change Registrar Lock in My.GARMTECH

  1. Sign in to My.GARMTECH.
  2. Open DomainsMy Domains.
  3. Click the domain you want to manage.
  4. Find Registrar Lock / Transfer Lock and switch it On or Off.
  5. Save changes if the page requires confirmation.

Important notes

  • Keep it enabled unless you specifically need it disabled.
  • Some TLDs have mandatory locks (for example, a lock period after registration or transfer). In that case, unlocking may not be possible.
  • When transferring a domain out, you will also need the EPP/Auth code (transfer code).
