This article explains how to change the password for your Cloud Storage account (powered by Nextcloud), and what to update on connected devices afterwards.
Change your Cloud Storage password
- Open the Cloud Storage web interface and sign in (the login URL is shown in your Cloud Storage service details in My.GARMTECH).
- Click your profile (avatar) in the top‑right corner.
- Open Settings (sometimes called Personal settings).
- Open Security.
- In Password, enter your current password and set a new strong password.
- Save the changes.
Update desktop and mobile apps
After changing the password, apps that sync your files will need the new password.
- Desktop sync app: open the client settings → re‑authenticate the account (or remove and add the account again).
- Mobile app: open account settings → sign in again.
If you use 2FA
If two‑factor authentication (2FA) is enabled in Cloud Storage, external apps often require an app password (device password) instead of the main password.
- In Cloud Storage, open Settings → Security.
- Create a new app password for each device/app (desktop sync, mobile app, WebDAV, etc.).
- Update your devices using the app password.
Good practice
- Use a unique password and store it in a password manager.
- If you suspect the password was leaked, also review active sessions/devices in Security and log out unknown sessions.
