GARMTECH Cloud Storage is based on Nextcloud and supports WebDAV. With WebDAV you can map Cloud Storage as a network drive in Windows or connect to it from macOS Finder.

Note: Mapping via WebDAV is great for “online access”. If you need continuous sync and offline files, use the Cloud Storage desktop app instead.

Step 1: Get your WebDAV URL

You can find the WebDAV address in two ways:

Your Cloud Storage URL is shown in My.GARMTECH in the service details.

Windows 10/11: Map as a network drive

  1. Open File ExplorerThis PC.
  2. Click Map network drive.
  3. Choose a drive letter.
  4. In Folder, paste your WebDAV URL (HTTPS), for example:
    https://cloud.example.com/remote.php/dav/files/USERNAME/
  5. Enable “Connect using different credentials” (if shown) and finish.
  6. Enter your Cloud Storage username and password.

macOS: Connect via Finder

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Click GoConnect to Server…
  3. Enter the same WebDAV URL, for example:
    https://cloud.example.com/remote.php/dav/files/USERNAME/
  4. Click Connect and enter your username and password.

If you have 2FA enabled

If two-factor authentication is enabled in Cloud Storage, you must use an app password for WebDAV connections. Create it in Cloud Storage → Personal settingsSecurityDevices & sessions.

Troubleshooting

  • 401 Unauthorized: wrong username/password or you need an app password (2FA enabled).
  • Certificate warning: confirm you use the correct HTTPS URL.
  • Slow performance: for large folders and many files, the desktop sync client is usually faster and more stable than WebDAV mapping.
