Keeping WordPress up to date is one of the most important security steps. On GARMTECH hosting you can manage updates from Plesk WordPress Toolkit and enable automatic updates for WordPress core, plugins, and themes.

Enable auto-updates

  1. Log in to Plesk.
  2. Open WordPress (WordPress Toolkit).
  3. Select your WordPress installation.
  4. Open Updates (or Autoupdate / Auto-updates).
  5. Enable the updates you want, for example:
    • WordPress core: enable at least minor/security updates.
    • Plugins: enable for trusted plugins (especially security plugins).
    • Themes: enable if you keep themes maintained.
  6. If available, enable the option to create a restore point / backup before updating.
  7. Save changes.

Recommended approach

  • Production websites: enable minor core updates + important security plugins. Apply major updates manually after testing.
  • Staging websites: you can enable more aggressive auto-updates and test updates first.

If an update fails

  • Check free disk space (low disk space often breaks updates).
  • Increase PHP limits (memory and execution time) if you update large plugins/themes.
  • Review the website error log in Plesk to see the exact cause.
