If you see messages like “Disk quota exceeded”, “Not enough disk space”, or uploads/updates stop working, your hosting subscription has reached its storage limit. Disk usage includes website files, databases, email, logs and backups.
Step 1 — Check what uses space
- Log in to Plesk.
- Open Statistics to see total disk usage for the subscription and each domain.
- For a specific domain, you can also open Files and use size calculation to find large folders.
Step 2 — Free up space (safe checklist)
- Old backups: open Backup Manager in Plesk and delete old backup archives you no longer need.
- Website cache: clear cache in your application (for example, WordPress cache plugin). Do not delete critical system folders if you are not sure.
- Large ZIP installers and uploads: remove old
.zip, .tar.gz, .sql files after you finish migrations.
- Logs: check the
/logs folder for very large files.
- Email storage: mailboxes also use disk space. Delete unnecessary mail and empty Trash and Junk.
Where to check mailbox size
- In Plesk, open Mail.
- Open a mailbox and check its Mailbox usage / size.
After cleanup
- Disk usage in the panel may update with a delay.
- If you still regularly hit the limit, the most reliable solution is to upgrade your hosting plan in My.GARMTECH.
